We’ve recently introduced a new member of our Care Team here at Spruce Grove Vision Care! You may have seen him around the clinic, or perhaps you’ve seen his photo on our website, but who is this new guy? His name is Dr. Jamie Humeniuk, and we are happy to have him here at SGVC.
Dr. Humeniuk grew up in Edmonton, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta, and graduated from the New England College of Optometry with honours in 2011. Since then, he has experience in a variety of clinical settings in both rural and urban communities including schools, nursing homes, and office management.
Fun fact: Dr. Humeniuk has heterochromia, which is a condition that results in having different coloured eyes. This condition is what sparked Dr. Humeniuk’s interest in eye health at an early age.
While Dr. Humeniuk enjoys being able to apply both mathematics and science in optometry, he says the most rewarding part of the job is the chance to meet new people and help them with their vision problems. In his spare time, he enjoys travelling, cooking, spending time with his fiancée, family and friends, and loves anything sports-related.
